Tārā is an important meditational deity and is the manifestation of the enlightened activities of all the buddhas. The goddess is commonly invoked due her ability to swiftly aid beings in distress. This praise to Tārā, which is composed of an invocation, prostrations, and offerings, can be recited as a preliminary to the recitation of the popular Praises to the Twenty-One Tārās, which is common to all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
